Our Story

In 2021, we embarked on Charcoal Briquettes or Green Charcoal production after realizing the need for eco-friendly energy solutions. Using sawdust, charcoal dust, and other agricultural waste, we produce charcoal briquettes that are smokeless, burn longer, and are environmentally friendly.

Many of us associate mushrooms with the rain season because at this time the atmospheric conditions are ‎suitable for the growth of edible fungi in Zambia. This nutrient dense food has a short season and is highly perishable when it is fresh, so many Zambians look forward to this time to purchase and consume as much of it as possible. Through our market research, we found that many people would purchase mushrooms if they where to be made available through out the year. Many of you out there will find this conclusion to be true.

As Farmers we should take advantage of this seasonal availability and scarcity because, most of the mushrooms found in chain stores are imported, meaning they are expensive for many Zambians. If local producers are able to grow and supply the product to both the chain stores and local markets as well, mushrooms would be more accessible for everyone. The market is there but there is no local supply to satisfy it.

Kalengwa Suppliers LTD continues to produce and increase Mushroom production to take advantage of this market gap and additionally we train more local farmers in MUSHROOM PRODUCTION to meet such an obvious need for local produce!
